Hydratis, how does it work?

It's not magic, it's science.
We tell you everything here.

Dehydration

[feminine noun]

Dehydration corresponds to a lack of water and mineral salts (called electrolytes) in the body, essential for the proper functioning of the body. Dehydration occurs when excessive water loss is not compensated. It affects up to 75% of French people.

In our daily activities, our bodies use water and minerals to keep us in tip-top shape. That's why it's essential to stay hydrated throughout the day. Even forgetting to drink for a few hours can lead to mild dehydration.

Did you know that it's recommended to drink 1.5 liters of water per day for women and 2 liters for men? Yes, because when water and mineral losses are excessive and not compensated for by intake, dehydration is a threat.

Water is life, as the other one would say.

And it's true. Especially when you consider that our body is made up of about 60% water. Even when we're slightly dehydrated, we quickly see the following:

  • signs of fatigue

  • lack of energy

  • feeling of thirst

  • less frequent and darker urine

  • dizziness and vertigo

And for good reason, hydration fulfills vital functions.

  • It helps ensure the proper functioning of our brain, which is made up of 75% water.

  • It helps waste to be evacuated

  • It helps regulate body temperature

  • It lubricates our joints to facilitate our flexibility and our movements.

  • If it is insufficient, it slows blood flow and reduces the supply of oxygen and minerals, essential to the muscles and the brain.

Hydratis, science at the service of your thirst

Water is essential, but its absorption in the body is not always optimal or sufficient to maintain good hydration. It all comes down to electrolyte balance.

Shall we explain?

Electrolytes are minerals, found in water, fruits, vegetables, and other everyday foods, that enable the body to perform several essential functions. Sodium, for example, is an electrolyte that plays an important role in regulating blood pressure and retaining water in the body. Potassium, on the other hand, contributes to the body's acid-base balance and proper muscle function. Absorbing these electrolytes in the right concentrations helps achieve what is called osmotic balance, which is the proper distribution of water between the inside and outside of cells.
Conversely, if all of these minerals are not present in sufficient quantity, we speak of an electrolytic imbalance which can lead to poor absorption of water and therefore dehydration.

Knowing this, and surrounding themselves with scientists and health professionals, Théo Heude and Jérémy Boué, the founders of Hydratis, have developed a unique formula to create an effective, healthy and practical solution to improve our hydration.

How it works ?

Since the 1960s and 1970s, ORS has been used as a rapid and effective response to dehydration, particularly in infants and children. Recognized and recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), they are based on a magic equation: a mixture of water, electrolytes, and glucose. This combination maximizes the body's absorption of water and allows for rapid action in the event of significant water loss. At Hydratis, we have taken inspiration from this principle, adapting it to each individual's daily needs and adding trace elements with antioxidant properties that support the proper functioning of the immune system.

Glucose, in small doses

Glucose, in small doses

With sodium, they make a pair.

Combined, they activate a specific, essential transporter that accelerates the absorption of water into the body. When taken in very small doses, this prevents any blood sugar spikes and unnecessary sugar absorption.

Why is Hydratis really different?

A hydration solution, not a soda

At Hydratis, we precisely dose the necessary amount of sugar (according to EFSA* recommendations) to achieve the perfect electrolyte/glucose ratio, and trigger the co-transport of water and sodium in the intestine.
Result: rapid hydration, not a sugar shot.
