Weight loss + Hydration = Perfect combo!

Can the impact of good hydration help with diets and weight loss?

I) Fruits and vegetables, the basis of a healthy diet.

Fruits are foods characterized by their low calorie intake due to their high water content and their low lipid content and their high fiber, vitamin, mineral and various microconstituent content. For some of these elements, fruits and vegetables represent important sources of our diet: this is the case of vitamin C, folates and vitamin A provided by provitamin A carotenoids.

Fiber acts on satiety, faecal excretion and intestinal motor activity, on metabolic parameters, including fasting and postprandial plasma lipids, and on colonic flora characteristics due to prebiotic effects of certain fibers.

Vitamin C has reducing properties that are the basis of its biological activity. It has antioxidant activity and acts as a cofactor in oxygen-catalyzed reactions. In addition, it is recognized for its ability to inhibit the synthesis of nitrosamines, carcinogenic compounds.

Pro-vitamin A carotenoids (α- and β-carotenes) generate vitamin A, which has an essential role in the physiology of retinal nerve cells.

Vitamin B9 is represented by the group of folates or polyglutamates. Folates participate in the metabolism of amino acids and nucleic acids.

In women at the time of childbearing is associated with a risk of fetal neural tube closure defect.

Vitamin K is an essential cofactor for the carboxylation of certain proteins involved in blood coagulation and in the activation of osteocalcin necessary for bone mineralization.

More recent studies attempt to clarify the role of this vitamin in the processes of bone mineralization. Potassium acts, in close relationship with sodium, to maintain the acid-base balance of the body and that of the fluids; high intracellular concentrations are necessary for the proper functioning of cells. A high dietary intake of potassium would protect against the development of arterial hypertension.

Magnesium, the second intracellular cation, is an element of major importance: most metabolic pathways are magneto-dependent and this element plays a key role in the ionic balance of membranes. Intracellular magnesium would play a key role in the regulatory action of insulin and in the proper functioning of the vascular system.

Polyphenols and non-provitamin carotenoids have antioxidant properties. However, these properties seem limited in vivo in view of the low concentrations found at the plasma level. These compounds are generally poorly absorbed and for some, such as polyphenols, highly metabolized. New courses of action are currently being explored.

Other compounds such as glucosinolates and sulfur compounds are the subject of great interest because of their potentially protective properties with regard to tumor development. The contents of all these micronutrients and microconstituents vary according to many parameters such as the variety or the physiological stage of the plant, the climate (light, temperature), the cultural practices (fertilization, irrigation), the post-harvest storage conditions and culinary practices, which makes it difficult to assess actual intake.

I It is advisable to drink at least 1.5 liters of water per day. But this contribution can also be brought by fresh fruits, which all contain more than 80% of their weight in water.

II) Our advice for staying well hydrated throughout the day.

Good daily hydration has very positive consequences for your health.

By drinking in moderation throughout the day or by opting for effective grandmother's tips: mixtures containing ginger and lemon or herbal teas. On the other hand, it is advisable to pour a teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of warm water and stir the mixture well then drink it. Others, on the other hand, prefer to opt for isotonic drinks... But in reality, these tricks do not all offer absolute efficiency.

If the dehydration is mild, just drinking plain water may be enough. On the other hand, if there has been a loss of water and electrolytes, the salts must also be replaced (more particularly sodium and potassium). A number of commercial drinks are available that have been developed to help replace salts (electrolytes) lost during vigorous exercise or illness.

Hydratis offers this kind of life-saving drinks. By consuming these beverages, one can prevent dehydration or treat mild dehydration. The process is very simple: just introduce the effervescent tablets into a large glass of water and then drink it. This is to be done up to 2 or 3 times a day as needed to optimize hydration. Drinking plenty of fluids and taking a little extra salt during or after exercise or during illnesses will also be effective.

If dehydration worsens and blood pressure drops enough to cause or near shock, then it is an emergency situation that requires immediate medical attention. In such a serious case, an intravenous solution containing sodium chloride may be administered.

The underlying cause of dehydration should always be treated. For example, if diarrhea is the cause, taking medication that cures or stops the diarrhea may also be necessary. Once the cause of the dehydration has been treated, you will need to be monitored to ensure that you are drinking enough fluids to stay hydrated. Your doctor may study your kidney function to make sure your kidneys are working properly when you take normal amounts of fluids.

If a child develops symptoms of dehydration, a health professional should be contacted immediately.

In order to prevent dehydration, sufficient water or fluid replacement products should be drunk when conditions are conducive to dehydration (e.g. hot, humid or cold weather, high altitude, exertion vigorous physique). It is also important to avoid alcoholic or caffeinated beverages, which accelerate dehydration by increasing urine output. It is recommended to consume 2 to 3 liters (about 8 glasses) of liquids every day.

III) How can Hydratis support you in your weight loss process?

Why being well hydrated will be beneficial during weight loss?

Water is a natural appetite suppressant

When the stomach feels full, it sends signals to the brain to stop eating. Water takes up space in the stomach, leading to a feeling of fullness and thus reducing the feeling of hunger.

Drinking a glass of water before eating can also help reduce unnecessary snacking . Participants in a 2014 study drank 500ml of water about 30 minutes before each meal, in addition to their regular water intake. After eight weeks, they noticed a reduction in weight, body fat and a decrease in appetite.

Accelerate calorie burning

Some research indicates that water can help burn calories . Scientists have noticed that water temporarily increases the resting energy expenditure of the body. Cold water would be particularly effective: the body spends even more energy and therefore calories to heat the liquid it digests.

Boost waste disposal

When the body is dehydrated, it cannot properly eliminate its waste products in the form of urine or feces. Water helps the kidneys filter out toxins, while the body retains essential nutrients and electrolytes. When the body is dehydrated, the kidneys retain fluid. Water also helps the body recover from digestive problems, such as diarrhea and indigestion.

Hydratis allows you better hydration, replaces lost minerals and allows your cells to fight against oxidative stress.

Above all, do not wait until you are thirsty to hydrate! Drink Hydratis in situations where you need more hydration and want to lose weight. This allows you to optimize the absorption of water at these times and the elimination of waste from your body.

Change your lifestyle by reducing your calorie intake, avoiding refined sugars, exercising regularly and hydrating yourself regularly. We advise you to dissolve two Hydratis lozenges in a large glass of water two to three times a day in order to maintain continuous hydration favorable to noticeable weight loss. Don't wait any longer, head to Hydratis because your well-being is our priority.
